Operates a professional digital audio board and video playback server for local and national newscasts affiliated with Arizona PBS and PBS News Hour. Oversees audio, IFB, and PL systems used during taped and live newscasts, specials, video recordings, and ASU and Arizona PBS events. Works in the control room, studio, or in the field on a variety of productions, ensuring audio quality meets internal and external standards including ATSC A/85 loudness standards and PBS Production Guidelines. Oversees and assists in instruction and training of staff and student production workers and interns. Provides oversight and guidance in troubleshooting systems as well as proper control room and studio audio production techniques. Manages and edits video assets for playback in newscasts, including the daily public affairs program Arizona Horizon, PBS News Hour, and other productions as assigned. Other duties and tasks may be assigned as necessary to support team objectives and organizational goals. This role requires flexibility in working hours and may involve evening and weekend productions.

Experience / Skills

Desired Qualifications:
-Four-year degree in broadcasting, audio, or digital media. Specific skills in broadcast audio technology.
-Proven ability to work with others in a service oriented, fast-paced news environment.
-Strong verbal and written communications skills.
-Three years live production experience in a TV studio.
-Knowledge of and ability to work with staff and students in a deadline-oriented news production environment.
-Knowledge of digital audio consoles and studio audio operations and set-up.
-Knowledge of digital video recorders and player operation.
-Knowledge of broadcasting standards and practices.
-Knowledge of basic audio and sound management theory. Knowledge of computer and/or server operation for both Mac and Windows OS.
-Familiarity with new and emerging trends in the media industry,
-Knowledge of and affinity for public media.
-Basic operational knowledge and utilization of Dante Network Audio with level one certification.
-Have worked with Studer Vista V, SST System T, or Allen and Heath SQ5 (Audio Console systems)
-Have worked with Ross Abekas video playback system, Sound 360 playback system, Gentner IFB system and Reidel intercom.
-Experience with Adobe Audition and mixing audio levels for post-produced broadcast and digital content.
