Hamish has over 20 years of experience as a professional director, photographer, and videographer working with a variety of national and international clients such as Rolex, MGM and Sony Pictures, Fairmont Hotels, Metropolis, Tourism Mexico, Telus, CP Rail and Destination BC. He draws from his diverse range experience in visual content production to contribute a professional creative perspective on every project. A team player he is equally as comfortable working on the road as near home. Production life is an adventure everyday, and an adventure he enjoys.

APPROACH & EXPERIENCE:
He would describe his style as narrative documentarian. Most of his projects are in high pressure, often unscripted scenarios. He prides himself on being able to adapt and react to the moment, capturing the nuances of each scene and opportunity organically as it unfolds. This adaptability, as well as the often unscripted nature of the way in which he shoots sequences lends itself extremely well to a genuine and honest feeling in his work. His style is something an editor will appreciate, considering he shoots with purpose, yet with post production and flexibility of use in mind.

Based on his passion for finding real moments and his disarming nature he loves working with real people and has an ability to make them feel at ease.

"Many of my motion projects are set in environments that are ever changing, dynamic and somewhat beyond my control. This is not only something I pride myself on being comfortable with, but an approach I often promote to clients. Real scenes and environments conjure genuine moments and connections. I shoot sequences mostly as they occur. This translates to an un-staged and natural feeling.
This is not to say I don’t have vision or direct talent. I do direct if I feel there is something missing which would support the scene. But I believe that a real experience captured candidly will most often feel more connected than those attempted for the sake of the project."
