I am a uniquely skilled broadcast professional who can edit, shoot and produce. For many years I have defined my role as a producer/editor who begins a project with story development and visual style. I enjoy being able to assist on interviews and b-roll. I also work well with composers, graphic artists and a team of editors to finalize the story.

Once in a while, I still get to do a little shooting on a story, which I love the opportunity to do. As a cameraman I have shot XDCAM in SD and HD, HDCAM, EX, Beta and DV as well as 16mm film for network specials and documentaries.

Some of my most recent editing projects have included a great deal of graphics creation and color correction work.

I have worked on three documentaries. One I directed about a journalist returning to Derry Northern Ireland to testify before the Saville Inquiry re-investigating Bloody Sunday. I also co-produced and edited a documentary on the Beslan hostage crisis in Russia. Both of these films screened at the Tribeca Film Festival.

And I assisted with a documentary still in production that chronicles the struggles of Armenians through the eyes of three American-Armenian brothers.

I have been in the industry since 1991.

Recommendations

I have worked with Michael on many projects over the years. As a DP myself, he was the first producer/ editor that knew the all the requirements of obtaining great images that would flow effortlessly within a story line.
He is not just a cutter, but a true master of the art. His ideas are well beyond the obvious. He sets mood and tone like no other. Very easy to communicate with, and considerate of all involved.

As a DP, I need to know that there are editors like Michael out there who are passionate about what they do.
Michael innately understands the nuances of visual story telling, which makes his input and opinions during the production process not only helpful, but essential. His involvement with the projects that I have worked on over the years have not only added to their success, but have been directly attributed to it.
