I have experience as a videographer, producer, director, production assistant and an editor. I am willing to work in any capacity on a film, television and/or video production project. I have my BA in Broadcast Journalism from the Cathy Hughes School of Communications at Howard University and a certificate in Digital Film and Video Production from the Art Institute of Washington. I shoot and edit my own work as well as for others. I mentor those who are younger than me in the field but I do not know all there is to know about working successfully in the business and am always willing to learn more. I have been working in television/video production professionally for 10 years freelancing on multiple projects as a production assistant.
As a production assistant with Magnet Media, a production company based in New York, I helped on the set of an interview with an author who was promoting his new book on the effects social media has on society and interviewed personnel who work with Norman ASA.
I worked with the Creative Producers Group as a production assistant for a four day conference. I helped with the set up and flow of the Executive Leadership Council Conference. I also helped assist and escort two celebrities that were special guests of the conference to different events happening during the conference. This was a fast-paced event and punctuality was key to keep the conference running smoothly and on time. Of the four production assistants that worked with the Creative Producers Group for this event I was the only one that worked all four days.
I have also worked with the company On-Camera Audiences as a audience coordinator for the Baltimore edition of American Ninja Warrior in 2012. I helped contestants and audience members fill out the necessary paperwork to be able to appear on camera for the filming of this production.
In February of 2013, I worked as the lead back of house hand for a play that was dedicated to the service and dedication of those in the armed forces.
I have worked with NBC's The Voice as one of the production assistants. In February of 2014, my church presented a black history play to the community. I was the director, creator, co-choreographer and I wrote the script for it. It was a huge success. In March 2015, I worked with my church again and we performed an adaption of a play called "The Glory Train." I designed the props for the play, directed, acted and updated the original script to modernize it so our local community could relate to the message of the play.
In 2019 I worked as a production assistant on a documentary shoot that features the lives of young adults who are cancer survivors. In December 2018, I worked as an assistant director for a shoot at The Coleman Institute in Richmond, VA. In the first six months of 2021 I have worked as a production assistant for two BET Network productions (Disrupt and Dismantle and The Year of the Black Woman). Since 2022, I have worked on multiple shoots for the HGTV show, House Hunters from Virginia to New York.
In addition, to all the work I've done stated above, on a weekly basis I post a vlog featuring me that I produced, filmed and edited. It's called "LITDS Presents: #TestimonyTueasday with #TheREF and it's broadcast on YouTube.
Working on productions (television, video, or live events) is very exciting to me and there are only a few things I love more than saying that I was able to work on a production or with a production company of any sort.
I have been in the industry since 2007.
