I am a designer and illustrator with a passion for visual storytelling. I do not have a strict design background; I instead have travelled from fine art to a MFA in illustration, with which came a passion for narrative and design. This path has given me a very alternative view of design and an open-minded approach to style. As an illustrator, I try to create images that have both personal integrity and the ability to communicate a message or feeling to a wide audience. I am especially interested in how communication design can benefit from raw abstract feeling and mood. Slight atmospheric tweaks to content can have a profoundly different effect on people's perception of a product.

Technically, I am thoroughly versed in Photoshop for photo editing, image manipulation, light animation and more. I have decent skills in Illustrator and InDesign, and working knowledge of Flash. I have a lot of experience scanning, optimizing and embedding media for the web. I have both digitally designed and physically made hard-cover books and zines. I am experienced with screenprinting as well, which really helps one's color sensibility and knowledge of color separations for other forms of printing. Technology is constantly evolving, however, and I am always enjoy learning new skills, software, etc.
