I currently work at Riot Act Comedy Theater, and have been there since the company opened in August of 2011. I was hired to lead the video production of live comedy shows and original content. My roll at the company has since expanded to include developing and implementing marketing strategies for upcoming shows, managing the company’s social media outlets and website, studying the analytics for these sites, and creating the graphics for the company’s advertisements. My experiences with Riot Act have been extremely edifying, and have strengthened my desire to continue to learn and grow in this industry.
In addition to my current position, my past experiences have also served to develop my passion for creativity. While making a documentary on young Israeli soldiers, I was faced with a number of unfamiliar tasks. Applying for grants, finding a crew, renting equipment, preparing locations and making travel arrangements were all new issues presented to me. I realized how important it was to be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and that I thrived in this type of situation. Additionally, my internship with Legendary Pictures opened my eyes to research and development. While there, I worked for both the digital and creative departments. During my digital internship, I was tasked with coordinating Legendary’s presence at Comic Con. While in the creative department, I wrote coverage, developed research reports for ongoing projects, created trade reports, and aided in plot, casting, and directorial decisions. I also currently volunteer at Stone Soup Films, a company who creates commercials and documentary shorts for charity or non-profit organizations in Washington, DC who cannot afford self-representation.
My experiences and my education at Hamilton College and the Tisch School at NYU have prepared me for any challenging position. I am a problem-solver, outgoing, detail-oriented, driven, and hardworking, and I believe I can be an asset to your team.
