For over 30 years Walter Gayer “Ritt” has been working with the cutting edge of technology. With 5 National Sports Emmy awards. Doing news and sports coverage for ESPN, CNN, ABC, NBC, Continental Cable. During this time we started to be involved in more and more on the engineering side of things. Turner Sports asked us to help with the integrating and setup of the broadcast center for the first winter good will games in Lake Placed, NY. This included audio and video systems plus all the data networks for the large amount of personnel working in the broadcast center. We were involved in the setup of a voice/data network in Boston using 18Ghz microwave links throughout Boston. The last 10 years we have worked with NASCAR in the use of fiber in Infrastructure at a race. Both in the Broadcast industry to the Public Safety realm. In that time many changes have come about. Internet access, wireless technology, fiber optic cabling just to name a few. With the ever increasing depth of the latest technology it is hard to keep up at times.
