I received my Associate’s degree in communications from Suffolk County Community College in May of 2006. I then continued my education at Quinnipiac University where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. I feel that my education and experience in production will have me well prepared for a position within a production department.
During the summer of 2007 I Interned at Suffolk Life Newspapers where I had a few responsibilities. Writing press releases and photo captions was my main job but I also edited stories, took photographs and covered local news and events. The experience I gained here was invaluable because I was able to see how a newsroom operates. During the summer of 2008 I interned at Sports Net New York. My responsibilities there included, logging Yankee and Met games, answering phones, researching stats and running errands. The experience was so much different than that of my first internship. I went from working at a small newspaper in a small town to a larger sports network in a big city and I feel it made me a more well rounded person. I started working at Neulion in the summer of 2010 as a live event editor and then worked my way up to an assistant supervisor and I currently hold the position of Broadcast Operations Manager. I enjoy having more responsibilities and working on the production of live streaming sports and working closely with editors and representatives from respective clients. . I feel that all these experiences have me well prepared for a career in broadcast and production.
