I've been a freelancer for the last 12 years - mostly in the industrial and corporate world. Most of the time was spent in turnkey operations. Started my own business and shot everything. Got small jobs that lead to bigger jobs that lead to really nice jobs. My creative solutions were often my biggest asset. I probably consider myself an editor that shoots really well. A big part of my magic is that I consider post when I shoot, which really helps in this current market of grab and go. Instead of getting bogged down in trying to control the shot, I'm constantly imagining how I can deal with it later on and since I'm an editor I don't usually fail. That doesn't mean I don't try and get the magic shot but I'm great in post so I use them as double power.I consider my shooting work and post work one now. I don't separate the camps.
I'm a really accomplished editor and a good story teller. I can carve stuff out of nothing usually.
Right now I'm really concentrating my efforts on meeting like-minded people in the world. People who love what they do and are interested in always trying to do it better without killing themselves or anyone else :)
I love cameras and toys but I think the real magic is process and being mature enough to find the heart in the work. You bring that back, then you've got something.
