I currently work at National Boston, (a full-service production and post company) as the Executive Producer/Producer of their broadcast design division. I'm responsible for evaluating, organizing, scheduling and managing broadcast design projects for cable and television networks nationally. As an Executive Producer/Producer, I help my client's establish their list of deliverables, organize the creative staff (design directors, designers, animators, compositors and editors) and facilitate projects on time and on budget. I've had the pleasure of producing graphics packages for the following high profile shows; "Katie," "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer," "The Masters, for CBS Sports," "Good Morning America" and This Week with Christiane Amanpour, "The Glamour Women of the Year Awards."
As an Independent Film & Television Consultant, I assist production companies and independent filmmakers with everything from securing financing for features, documentaries and television series’ to assisting with film festival submission/coordination, entertainment publicity, producer’s representation and referrals to film industry specialists for production, post-production and legal assistance. Laura’s services were engaged for both, "The Million Calorie March," a documentary film about obesity awareness and for, "The Easter Egg Adventure," an animated family feature film featuring the voices of: Brooke Shields, Joe Pantoliano, James Woods, Sandra Bernhardt and Nancy Kerrigan. Laura is currently working with filmmaker Teo Zagar to secure production financing for the documentary film, "Iron Horse the Legend of Lou Gehrig." The film will illustrate how the disease affected major league baseball great, Lou Gehrig.
Prior to becoming an Independent Film & Television Consultant, I was Business Development Director for full-service production and post company National Boston. I was responsible for developing, implementing and directing initiatives to strengthen overall sales for a full-service production/post-production company. My first client was Ben Affleck, who did camera testing and wardrobe and makeup testing on National’s soundstage for Disney’s feature film, "Gone, Baby Gone." I was also able to obtain business from Sony Pictures to generate HD digital dailies (first time for Sony) for their feature film "21."
Prior to working for National Boston, I served as the Assistant Director of the Massachusetts Film Bureau, (MFB). The MFB was the state’s recognized service provider for feature film, independent film, television and commercial productions filming in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I co-founded and incorporated the nonprofit MFB in October 2002 after the state-funded film office was closed in July 2002 due to budget cuts. The MFB successfully secured more than $162.5 million dollars of film production revenue for the state of Massachusetts from 2003 – 2005. I had the opportunity to function as service provider to a number of major motion pictures to Massachusetts including; "The Departed," "Gone, Baby Gone," "Mystic River," "Stuck on You, "Little Black Book" and "Fever Pitch."
Before incorporating the nonprofit MFB, Laura worked for the state film office as a Special Events/Marketing Consultant. Working under the offices of Economic Development, she was responsible for designing, implementing and managing special events and film-related projects to raise Massachusetts’ visibility as a destination for filmmaking.
Adding to her film industry background, Laura worked for National Amusements as a Publicist (Agency Accounts & Corporate Promotions). Representing New Line Cinema in eight markets across the country and Paramount Pictures in the Pittsburgh market, Laura was responsible for coordinating media attendance at press junkets in LA and New York, creating and implementing promotional campaigns to support new film releases, arranging word-of-mouth and press screenings in all markets. Laura also established cross-promotional campaigns with National Amusements’ synergy partners Nickelodeon, Blockbuster Video and Showcase Cinemas.
Laura attended Northeastern University and graduated with a B.A. in Communications.
I have been in the industry since 2006.
