Gabriel Judet-Weinshel is an award-winning DP / director / writer with 25 years of professional experience in narrative, commercials, documentaries, music videos, and corporate video. Select clients include MTV, VH1, NBC, IFC, LOGO TV, BET, A&E, CBS Radio, CBS Sports, WE, The History Channel, The Food Network, The Travel Channel, The Sundance Channel. Brands include Microsoft, Sony, Lexus, Nike, Heineken, People Magazine, Tennis Magazine, Yamaha, and The NFL.
In music, he’s photographed U2, Paul McCartney, Alicia Keys, The Black Eyed Peas, Lil’ Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Pearl Jam, Elton John, Judy Collins, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ani Difranco, The Black Keys, Lil’ Yachty, The Counting Crows, Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, My Chemical Romance, Lyle Lovett, Glen Hansard, Spoon, Joseph Arthur, and Bruce Springsteen, among many others. He shot folk-rock sensation Brett Dennen’s cover art and a photo of him for Rolling Stone. He has worked as a shooter on HBO’s Justin Timberlake FutureSex/LoveShow and Sundance’s Spectacle (with Elvis Costello).
Gabriel won two New York Emmys for direction and photography on NYC Soundtracks, an eight-part documentary series for the Madison Square Garden network. He D.P.ed a feature-length documentary in India with writer-director Tracey Jackson (Confessions of a Shopaholic). He has shot for several seasons on the hit television show Chopped. In fashion, he has D.P.ed commercials for IWC Schaffhausen, Judith Leiber, Rent the Runway, Adrienne Vittadini, MAC Cosmetics, Norisol Ferrari, Ouidad, Living Proof, and shot Alek Wek for H&M.
Gabriel's narrative work includes the feature film, 7 SPLINTERS IN TIME, starring Edoardo Ballerini, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Austin Pendleton, which was released theatrically (Gravitas Ventures) and internationally (ITN) and won the New Visions Award at the Cinequest Film Festival. His short narrative, THE HEART IS A HIDDEN CAMERA, was accepted to over 20 festivals internationally—including LA Shorts, the International Film Festival in Bilbao, Spain, and Palm Beach International—and won the director’s choice award at the Thomas Edison Film Festival.
